![]() ![]() They are believed to be the heralds of humanity's ascension by certain Unitologists and individuals suffering from Marker Dementia, but on a more practical level, they are the extremely dangerous result of the exposure of dead tissue to the Markers' signal. The sole purpose of all Necromorphs is to acquire more bodies to convert and spread the infection. The resulting creatures are extremely aggressive and will attack any uninfected organism on sight. First that it's simply a weapon (possibly gone rogue) designed to wipe out enemies, second tool (possibly same as previous circumstances) for harvesting biomass and third some weird attempt to conquer death that went catastrophically wrong.Necromorphs are mutated corpses reshaped into horrific new forms by a recombinant extraterrestrial infection derived from a genetic code etched into and transmitted by the Markers. What I like to believe based on what is known is one of 3 scenarios. Regarding original marker it's again unknown and speculation territory. Them being aware of how close to total annihilation earth has been because of the original black marker (whole Altman crisis), they set the experiment way the ♥♥♥♥ away on aegis VII and implemented some sort of "oh ♥♥♥♥" safety function in the marker itself being that it can contain what it has created. ![]() ![]() It's purely speculation but my guess would be the uniqueness of that marker is due circumstances of how it was created, for experimentation purposes by earthgov that is. Having that in mind I call it a very "fluffy" piece of lore for Aegis VII marker to possess ability to supress/force dormant necromorphs as it makes no sense whatsoever. According to lore red markers such as one in question are human/alien made copies of the original black markers and their purpose is simple, quicken the spread of necromorphs and subsequent convergence which ends in creation of necromorphic moon. ![]()
